Mt. Zion Economic Development Corporation

The Mt Zion Economic Development Corporation (MZEDC) is a non-profit Faith based organization that was founded and is currently funded by the Mt Zion Baptist Church of Ontario California. The Economic Development Corporation was formed to focus Mt. Zion Baptist Church’s outreach ministries on improving the local economy and quality of life for residents in the Ontario and West San Bernardino County Area

Mt. Zion Baptist Church has been active in the community for over eighty years. In the past the church has delivered services through donations of cash or in-kind goods directly to the community or through other service delivery groups. The church has also provided small groups of volunteers to perform relatively well-defined outreach task. By contrast, community development activities require regular and sustained involvement in a range of complex processes and tasks. Mt. Zion Baptist Church decided in 1999 that the formation of a economic and community development corporation could meet the challenges
